Coach Jay Hollister and the Penn Yan Mustangs defeated the Marcus Whitman Wildcats yesterday 64-55 in Section V boys basketball action. The win improves Penn Yann’s record to 3-1 on the season. The Wildcats are now 0-5-0 in 2012-13 and are still seeking their first win. The Mustangs’ Eric Johnson had a 14 point game while Shane Bloom and Bradley Voigt each chipped in an additional 11 points.Luke Shively had a 19 point game for the Wildcats while team mate Rhen Grover added 14 points, including 4-3point shots. Tyler Rohrback chipped in another 10 points.Both teams are back in action on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Penn Yann will travel to Wayne while Marcus Whitman hosts Mynderse. Both games are scheduled to have a 7:30pm tip-off.
