Village Christmas, presented by Watkins Glen Promotions, will be an evening full of activities, food and crafts. The event will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 on Franklin Street in Watkins Glen and will begin at 5:00 p.m.There will be live entertainment sponsored by Captain Bill’s, Jerlando’s Ristorante and Ultimate Sound throughout the evening at Learn Motors on Franklin Street. Included in the mix will be musical groups from the Watkins Glen School, Odessa-Montour School and Lakeview Assembly of God. Dream Barn Productions will present “Rollin’ in dough in Mistletoe” in the Village Hall. This will run throughout the evening. Stop in and see the Lake Country Players “Twas the Night Before Christmas” Improv at the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce building at 214 N. Franklin Street.One of the highlights of the evening will be the Visions of a White Christmas Village Parade sponsored by Visions Federal Credit Union. Commencing at 6:30 p.m. from Specchio Ford and following Franklin Street north to 1st Street, the parade will be where Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their entrance to the street festival. The parade will also be judged by a panel who will give awards for “Judges’ Choice”, “Most Christmas Spirit”, “Most Decorated” and “Best Decorated Fire Truck.” Santa and Mrs. Claus will then be at Famous Brands to greet all the children at the festival following the parade. All children who visit Santa Friday evening will receive free admission to “Rise of the Guardians” movie on Saturday morning, December 8th, compliments of the Glen Theater. Santa’s Reindeer sponsored by Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards will be at Community Bank.Santa’s elves will be back this year personalizing Christmas ornaments at 211 North Franklin Street – Village Memorabilia. Make sure you stop by and purchase one for your children and grandchildren. Also available that night (and prior to) Christmas Gifts By Chance – a fundraiser to help defray Village Christmas costs.The Winter Wonderland fireworks display, sponsored by Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, will be held over Seneca Harbor Park at 7:30 pm.
