Four officers injured in Geneva car & foot chase

On early Monday morning, around 2:00 am, the Geneva Police Department along with assistance from the New York State Police and Ontario County Sheriff’s Department arrested Dustin Vernon Gomes. Gomes is a 26 year old from Walworth, New York.After a police car and foot pursuit in the City of Geneva, the subject was taken into custody for both Felony and Misdemeanor charges on Monroe Avenue, Geneva.Subject violently fought with Officers, injuring four officers ranging from a bite to one officer to a nose injury to another. During the incident, the suspect attempted to take two of the officers weapons. Two Officers were treated at Geneva General Hospital and released.
