Seneca Falls Police arrest level 2 sex offender

On November 5, 2012 at approximately 2:41AM, the Seneca Falls Police arrested Richard M. Yasher, a Level 2 Sex Offender; age 22, of 14 Auburn Road Apartment 16 Seneca Falls, NY. This arrest stems from an investigation that was started in September of 2012, where Officers responded to Yasher’s registered address at 192 Ovid Street for a home verification check.While at the residence, Officers spoke with the landlord of the home who stated that Yasher had moved out to an unknown whereabouts. While conducting the investigation, police then received a notification from the Department of Criminal Justice Service (DCJS) indicating that Yasher had failed to comply with his annual address verification for the NY State Sex Offender Registry. With the assistance from other law enforcement agencies and citizens, Police were able to develop new information on Yasher’s whereabouts. Yasher was then located and brought back to the police department for further questioning.Upon the completion of the investigation, Officers then charged Yasher with 2 Class E Felonies under the Corrections Law for Failing to Register Change of Address and Failing to Verify his Annual Address. Yasher was arraigned at the Village of Waterloo Court where he was then committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 ins bond. A Felony Hearing is scheduled for November 7, 2012 at 2:00PM at the Village of Waterloo Court.
