On Sunday at approximately 11:16 am the Seneca Falls Police Department investigated a plane crash on a grass runway just west of Farron Rd. in Town of Seneca Falls.The plane, a 1971 Cessna 150 Single Engine Fixed Wing, was being piloted by Allen G. Staff age 49 of 2558 Route 364 Penn Yan, NY. Staff was attempting to land when the high winds forced the plane to the ground.The plane struck the ground nose first on the edge of the runway next to a corn field. Both Staff and his passenger, Suzanne Parker age 50 of 2232 Route 14N Geneva, NY were uninjured. Seneca Falls Fire Department responded to the scene and handled a fuel leakage from the connection lines on the plane.Seneca Falls Police were assisted at the scene by NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation, Seneca County Sheriffs Dept, Seneca Falls Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance. Federal Aviation Administration was notified and is still investigating the crash.
