Elizabeth Winter has been selected as the next president of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce according to Chamber Board Chairperson Alan Bishop. “Our current President, Spike Herzig, notified the Board earlier this year of his desire to retire. We interviewed a number of potential candidates and we’re happy that Liz Winter will be leading the Chamber starting November 12th. We are looking forward to adding some new programs and moving into the new Visitor Center in 2013. Liz will provide the leadership we need to carry out our mission and programs”.Winter is presently the Director of Membership and Visitor Services at the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that, she was Director of the Downtown Canandaigua Business Management Association. Winter commented “I am excited to be joining the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce. We are fortunate to have quality schools, great healthcare, and successful businesses that contribute to this thriving community. As a Chamber, it is our goal to consistently work to keep the community moving forward. I look forward to working with everyone”.Herzig is looking forward to working with Winter. “I have known Liz for some time and I believe the Board made an excellent choice for our next President. She has a wealth of experience, is well respected among regional chamber executives as well as local business people in Geneva. I look forward to the expertise and excitement she will bring to the position”.
