Penn Yan teen caught with over $3,000 of stolen property

Tyler B. Davis, age 19, was arrested on warrants issued from the Penn Yan Village Court based on 2 separate incidents occurring in the Village of Penn Yan.An obstruction and alcohol violation stemmed from an incident back on the evening of September 15th where police saw Davis in possession of an alcoholic beverage in a village park on Lake Street. According to police, he refused to cooperate by running away.Then on the morning of September 16th, Davis was in possession of property valued in excess of $3,000 that had been reported to police as being stolen from a vehicle on North Avenue. A co-defendant, Patrik Meland was previously charged in the incident.Davis was arraigned before acting Village Judge John Symonds where he was committed to the Yates County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. The investigation of the North Avenue larceny continues with further charges against Davis pending.
