The year is 1887. Frederick and Mary Thompson are hosting a gathering of influential friends to the recently completed Sonnenberg Mansion. Guests include inventor Thomas Edison, Kodak camera creator George Eastman, former governor of New York Myron Holley, and other wealthy socialites. As the group prepares for the following day’s fundraising event, none of them realize there is a murderer amongst them, determined to not only destroy the evening, but place a shadow over the very future of Sonnenberg itself. Taking its inspiration from history, Lights Out, Mr. E, written by FLCC English instructor Todd Natti, is a harrowing, comical, and enlightening look not only into local Canandaigua and Rochester history but a celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the completion of Sonnenberg Mansion. We need your help to uncover the clues, part of the Fall Mansion Mysteries at Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park in Canandaigua.Guests attending this popular evening of live theater will be welcomed by butler at the Mansion Fridays & Saturdays, Oct. 19, 20, 26, and 27 for a 7 p.m. show each night. The main gates open at 6:30 p.m., ensuring guests will arrive via tram at the Mansion in time for the start of the show. Light hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be available, along with a cash wine bar (non-alcoholic beverage also provided). Guests are welcome to further participate in the fun, if they so desire, by attending in costume. During the evening, guests will be provided an opportunity to converse with the characters in order to sleuth out whodunit!Tickets for the shows are $22 for adults or $18 for Sonnenberg members or youth 12 – 17. Advance reservations are strongly recommended as seating is limited to approximately 70 guests per evening, and the shows often sell out by performance night. Reservations should be made by phone at (585) 394-4922 or online at www.sonnenberg.org.
