Seneca Falls Farmers Market Report 10/3

Oh no, it’s almost the end of another market season! But that doesn’t have to mean the end of local produce. Come to the market and stock up on end of the season fruits and veggies and store, freeze or preserve them so you can enjoy them in the next few cold, winter months. Can some tomatoes or make sauce, cup up and freeze green peppers to enjoy in soups and stews this winter, make applesauce and freeze it and buy potatoes and squash to store in your cellar or other cool, dark place for enjoyment later. Then wander over and buy fresh cut flowers for your table or potted mums and pumpkins to decorate for winter. Buy a loaf of fresh baked specialty breads or sweet breads to serve this weekend or cookies to send in kids lunches. And for yourself…applesauce cupcakes with buttercream frosting drizzled with caramel and topped with streusel! And don’t forget fresh local cheeses and meats to buy for the holidays. Well, you get the idea! So come on down and enjoy a warm fall day at the Seneca Fall’s Farmers Market in People’s Park.
