On Sunday at about 2:33 PM, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residential structure fire located at 1621 Pre-Emption Rd., in the Town of Junius.When deputies arrived on scene Junius Fire Department was battling flames on the east side of the structure caused by the electrical service on the outside of the home. Fire Departments from Serven FD, Waterloo FD, Magee FD, Fayette FD, Oaks Corners FD, Fire fighters maintained the fire, saving the structure of the home until NYSEG arrived on scene and shut down the electric going to the residence.An estimated damage to the home was between $10,000 and $15,000. fter an investigation it was determined that a water pipe was leaking into an old fuse box located in the basement.The American Red Cross responded to the scene and assisted the home owner, Joseph Foss and his sister Marlene Colarocco with housing for the night. Sheriff Deputies were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and North Seneca Ambulance and Seneca County Code Enforcement.
