Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg has imposed limited boating restrictions on the north end of Seneca Lake this weekend for the Hydro Bowl Hydro Plane Races. “Pleasure boating traffic will be restricted from an area north east of the Ramada Inn in Geneva easterly to past the judges stand on the Seneca Lake walkway. We have set up an exclusionary zone which is approximately 100 yards around the race course to ensure everyone’s safety”, said Sheriff Stenberg. Sheriff’s Navigation units will be lining the exclusionary zone throughout the weekend and boaters are asked to heed any directions given them by Marine law enforcement. “There will be plenty of great viewing locations on the water for boaters to see the races and these limited restrictions on boat traffic will contribute to a safe weekend for not only the race participants, but, the boating public as well”, continued Sheriff Stenberg. ; The restrictions will be in place Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 AM thru 6:00 PM.The Seneca County Sheriff’s Navigation units are being supported by Marine Units from the Yates, Ontario, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Park Police.
