Waterloo man arrested after 100 mph car chase

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports that Anthony M. Silbernagel, age 23, of 55 Washington St Waterloo, NY was arrested for Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd, Driving While Intoxicated, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, Refusal to take a breath test, Reckless driving, 7 Speed violations including 102mph in a 55mph zone, 5 Stop sign violations, and other miscellaneous traffic infractions.Officers report the charges stem from a complaint received from a motorist that Silbernagel was traveling at a high rate of speed on Lower Lake Road. Officers attempted to stop Silbernagel on State Route 89 at which time he failed to comply and led officers through several local roadways at high speeds with disregard for traffic control devices.Officers took Silbernagel into custody after he lost control of his vehicle on State Route 89, and left the roadway striking a sign and fence post. Natasha M. Laurenza, age 23, of 26F Stanton Meadows Seneca Falls NY, was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for facial injuries. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police assisted with the arrest, and Magee Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
