DWI & Mercy Flight for Newark woman after crash

On Monday evening at approximately 8:45 PM Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 96A and Boody Hill Rd.Sara A Ellington, age 24, of Newark, NY was crossing over route 96A from Boody Hill Rd. heading East when she failed to yield the right of way to a south bound vehicle being operated by Gerald A Bond, age 68, of Geneva, NY.North Seneca Ambulance, South Seneca Ambulance and Border City Fire Department assisted on scene.Ellington was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries to her face and multiple broken bones. Bond was checked over by South Seneca Ambulance and released to be taken to Geneva General Hospital by personal vehicle.Ellington was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Failed to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign. She is to appear in the Town of Fayette court on October 17th, 2012 at 7:00PM.
