On 08/30/12 at approximately 3:44 p.m. the Seneca Falls Police Department responded to a motorcycle accident with an individual lying in the roadway on SR 5 and 20 near SR 414 in the Town of Seneca Falls.Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, Lynn C. Cotton, age 60, of Canadaiuga in the roadway conscious and alert. EMTs from North Seneca Ambulance and Seneca Falls Fire Rescue arrived on scene and assisted in stabilizing Cotton. Fire Rescue also assisted police with traffic control.Police interviewed multiple witnesses and were told that Cotton was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle operated by Thomas E. Hunter, age 64, of Trabuco Canyon, CA and was heading westbound when a vehicle pulled out from the Kingdom Plaza parking lot in front of Hunter, causing Hunter to brake suddenly and then causing Hunter to lose control. Hunter did sustain injuries to his arm from the accident.Hunter and Cotton were transported by ambulance for treatment of all injuries. Stever’s Garage towed the motorcycle from the scene. Both Hunter and Cotton were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Vehicle that pulled out of the parking lot did not stop and continued westbound on SR5. No summons issued.
