Auburn, NY –Blogging (posting content on an online journal or ‘web log’) is one of the most effective forms of e-marketing. The Cayuga County Office of Tourism is sponsoring a two-hour workshop tailored to the beginning blogger to get started promoting their business with blog content. The workshop will cover the purpose and benefits of blogging, where blogging fits in a social media plan and current trends in blogging. In addition, there will be advice on how to work with outside bloggers, how to generate traffic and most importantly what NOT to do when creating a blog. The workshop will be led by Carol White Llewellyn, a consultant for small and tourism-oriented businesses specializing in creating innovative marketing strategies that optimize communications through traditional, social and digital media. She also maintains her own travel and tourism blog, The Finger Lakes Travel Maven. The workshop will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 75 North Street, Auburn, NY. The cost is $20 per person and includes a box lunch.
