Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould reports that the investigation into the vandalism at the Weedsport Rural Cemetery is continuing. Detectives are looking to identify a group of youths seen in the area on Tuesday evening.A Weedsport resident responding to news coverage about the case contacted Detectives today and reported seeing a group of approximately 8 teenagers come up out of a creek bed near the intersection of Shepherd Rd. and E. Brutus St. Rd. at approximately 6:00pm on Tuesday evening. This creek bed runs in close proximity to the cemetery. The youths were last seen at that intersection and their direction of travel from that point is unknown at this time. Detectives are hoping to identify the youths and interview them in order to determine if they have any information relative to the investigation.
