Cayuga United Way executive director resigns

Tim Kelly, Executive Director of United Way of Cayuga County resigned his position effective August 22, 2013 to pursue other opportunities. Kelly has led the organization for 2 ½ years and can point to many achievements during his tenure such as his leadership in raising $2,622,601; establishing the Youth Allocations process; expanding the number of volunteers; and establishing a partnership with the United Way of Seneca County to provide both counties with data for planning, benchmarking and grant writing.While a search for Kelly’s successor is conducted a familiar face will take the helm at the United Way. Gail Homick, former United Way Executive Director, will return to that role on an interim basis. Homick retired from the position in 2009. United Way of Cayuga County is a nonprofit organization serving Cayuga County. The United Way conducts fund raising campaigns to raise money to support programs for guiding youth to achieve their potential, helping children succeed, improving people’s health and well-being, and promoting independence and self-sufficiency. The United Way is a leader in childhood development through Success By Six, access to help with 2-1-1 Information and Referral line, stabilizing income for working families with CASH (Creating Assets, Savings & Hope), and engaging youth in community solutions with a Youth Allocations program.
