The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that early Friday morning at around 12:30 am, a two car head-on PIMVA occurred on Route 96 in the Town of Romulus. Deputies state that Robert L Lounsberry age 20 of Almond. NY was southbound on Rt 96, when a northbound vehicle, a 2000 Chevy Malibu ,driven by Simba I. Modeste age 19 of Seneca Falls, NY, crossed over the center line of the highway and struck Lounsberry’s 1993 Toyota pickup head-on.Lounsberry was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he is being treated for facial injuries, and rib fractures. Modeste was also treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and transported to Geneva General Hospital then transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester where he is currently being treated for head trauma and internal injuries. Deputies report that both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ovid Fire De p t, and the New York State Park Police. Deputies report that the investigation is on-going and charges against Modeste are pending.
