Felony DWI for Romulus man after Varick crash

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on August 3rd 2012 at approximately 5:19pm Deputies responded to a property damage MVA on Kings Corners Rd. Town of Varick. While investigating the accident it was determined that Thomas Hageman, age 54, of 6740 Rt. 96 Romulus, was traveling Southbound when he attempted to avoid a vehicle being operated by James Deal, age 59 of 4750 Kings Corners Rd Romulus. Deal had pulled out of his driveway and began to travel Northbound. Hageman lost control of his vehicle due to a brake issue and struck the front end of Deal’s vehicle with the left rear of his truck. It was also determined that Hageman was intoxicated and was charged with Felony DWI, Felony Aggravated DWI and Improper Brakes. Hageman was transported to the Town of Romulus Court for arraignment where he was committed to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $500. He is scheduled to reappear on August 10th 2012 at 11:00am for a Felony Hearing . Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
