FLIPs presents pirate musicals this weekend

FLIPs: In the Light Daycamp presents Avast! A Pirate Musical and FLIPs: after dark.. presents Treasure Island. Avast! A Pirate Musical (Cassandra Kaiser) will be in the AIR CONDITIONED Waterloo Main St. Auditorium in Waterloo July 27 & 28 at 6PM, and at 8PM the older teens will present Treasure Island at Fatzinger Hall above the Waterloo Library on Church St. in Waterloo. FLIPs’ executive director Mrs. Kimberly Brown oversees directors Kathleen Mills and Cassandra Kaiser. 75 children, ages 4 to 20, are participating in this year’s summer program. 6PM Avast! A Pirate Musical: Written and directed by local author Cassandra Kaiser, this rock and roll musical is filled with humor, swordfights, hidden identities, and even a group of singing pirates! The score was conceived and recorded by Seneca Falls native Janet (Alcorn) Yankosky and her band I.O.U. out of Wilson, NC. Join 60 children at Waterloo Main Street auditorium to find the buried treasure.8PM Treasure Island: Kathleen Mills directs this thrilling production at Fatzinger Hall (abouve the Waterloo Library). Excitement runs high in this adaptation of a favorite childhood adventure story. Robert Louis Stevenson’s thrilling tale of pirates, treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas and pieces of eight follows Jim Hawkins, an ordinary youth drawn into a dangerous race for buried treasure against the treacherous Long John Silver. Tickets are available at The Copy Shop in Seneca Falls, Nugent’s Hardware in Waterloo, and online at www.InchHighPlayers.org. The presale price is $6 for students and seniors, and $7 general admission. Tickets at the door are $1 more. Children under 5 are free. The public is welcome. All proceeds will benefit the organization.
