Four arrested in Sterling on burglary charges

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four persons in connection with two burglary investigations in the Town of Sterling. The following persons were arrested in connection with the burglary of a finished recreation room inside of a barn on Sterling Station Rd. The defendants entered the room in the middle of the night in early June and stole several bottles of liquor. Jacob M. Steurrys age 18 of 539 Wilcox St. Fair Haven- arrested 6/27/12 Alexis S. Rivera age 19 of 3 Nestle Ave. Fulton – arrested 06/27/12 Heather M. Mack age 21 of 1332 Rt. 104A Sterling- arrested 06/28/12 -all three were charged with Burglary in the third degree (felony) and Petit Larceny (misdemeanor). All three were arraigned in local criminal courts and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail. All three have since been released. Charles R. “Chuck” Bennett age 20 of 1132 Rt. 104A Sterling- arrested 07/19/12- charged with Criminal Possession of stolen property in the fifth degree (misdemeanor) in connection with the above burglary.
