Pair of Sunday stabbings in Geneva

Geneva police are reporting two stabbings that occurred Sunday on Williams Street in Geneva and then later on Elm Street in Geneva.A twenty six year old victim male from Geneva, NY was assaulted early Sunday morning on the one way portion of William Street in the City of Geneva. It was at that time that an altercation ensued with approximately 15-30 younger males who proceeded to strike the victim causing head trauma in the area of the mouth, eye and head. At the current time the victim is in stable condition, but will be undergoing surgery on Monday to repair facial fractures. Detectives are currently handling the case and interviewing witnesses in this matter.Then, later Sunday night, a twenty two year old male from Utica, New York was stabbed with a steak knife on Elm Street in the City of Geneva. The victim received lacerations to his right abdominal area and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. At the time of this release, the victim is stable and working with Detectives to identify his attacker.Both crimes will be updated as new information is available.
