31st Lap Live: July 12 at Amy’s Checkered Flag

SENECA FALLS, NY — The 31st Lap podcast will go on the road Thursday, July 12.With the regular live show scheduled for 7:15 pm July 12, the program will air from Amy’s Checkered Flag in Downtown Waterloo instead of the conventional studio confines.Amy’s Checkered Flag is a historic racing landmark in central New York. Host of several block parties over the last four decades that included Bobby Allison, Bobby Hillin Jr., Dick Trickle, Davey Allison and Mike McLaughlin, Amy’s is a racing mainstay. Panels from race cars, such as Bobby Allison’s No. 22A dirt modified, and Tim Richmond’s Folgers Coffee No. 25 from Dover. Photos from racing events and Daytona 500 parties cover the wall, along with racing ‘stuff’ like Chuck Ciprich’s pitboard from Syracuse, and a set of flags from Syracuse.Allison, John McArdle, Bobby Podolak, Ken Schrader, Dick Trickle and countless other talents, from national right down to local scenes, have walked the floors and left their marks on the historic bar.The guest list is continuing to take shape; several drivers and cars are expected to be on site.
