Golden Eagles dominate Pilots at East Field

The Glens Falls Golden Eagles hosted the Newark Pilots on a beautiful Tuesday summer night at East Field as they dominated from the outset, taking the lead in the first inning and never looking back.Starting on the mound for the Golden Eagles, and ultimately getting the victory for his ball club was Ryan Peterson (Yavapai). Peterson went seven strong innings giving up two runs and striking out a total of four batters. The right-hander looked commanding on the mound from start to finish getting seven batters to ground out and another ten batters to fly out.Getting the loss for the Pilots was sidearm hurler Andrew Tidwell (Saginaw Valley State), who gave up a total of three runs through the first two innings. Coming to his relief was pitcher Sean Elliot (University of Indianapolis) who lasted three innings giving up a total of six runs to Glens Falls.From the batters box the Golden Eagles looked stellar. Eight of the nine starters reached base on hits with a couple players in particular who lead the team with multiple hits. Alberto Morales (Clarendon) hit a double off the left-center wall and added a single and another double later in the match. Kevin Meyers (Northeast Oklahoma A&M) and Emanuel Forcier (New Mexico Junior College) had three singles a piece, while Danny Brennan (St. Louis University) and Ross Kivett (Kansas State University) added two hits a piece to the score sheet.A total of 10 runs stood between the two teams as Glens Falls dominated in a 12-2 victory.The Newark Pilots drop to 6-4 overall while the Glens Falls Golden Eagles improve their record to 6-5 on the summer. Glens Falls takes on Elmira at home, Wednesday June, 20th at 7 PM, while Newark hosts Cooperstown Wednesday night at 7 PM as well.
