Wow, another week gone by and time to come out and enjoy People’s Park and pick up your local, fresh produce and other items that are for sale each Wednesday from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. We have two new vendors starting this week: one who will be selling hand crafted jewelry and a second who will have fresh lemonade (great for the 90 degree weather they are predicting!) and other handmade items. As always there will be fresh baked breads, cookies, macaroons, pastries, cakes and granola, farm fresh eggs, cheese from 5 local creameries, potted plants, hand-crafted items, and don’t forget lunch in the park! This week Dave & Rita’s Farm Market will be featuring pulled pork sandwiches on a fresh baked roll and three cheese mac & cheese, each available alone or make it a combo which includes choice of macaroni or pasta salad, and a drink (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sprite or Bottled Water). Last week featured fresh beets, greens, peas, carrots, strawberries and summer squash. We are hoping for fresh beans this week! Don’t miss out on all these fresh, local products. We open at 9AM and stay until 1:30PM each Wednesday in People’s Park, Seneca Falls. Come early for the best selection, come later and still get some great deals then stay for lunch and enjoy the ambiance of the market. Talk to the people who grow and produce the items you buy. Many products are grown chemical free and one vendor specializes in heirloom varieties of produce. Come and learn where your food comes from, from the people who know!Once again Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extensions’ nutrition staff will be on hand, this week with low sugar strawberry jam for tasting! Take home the recipe and pick up some berries at the market. WIC and Senior Citizen Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons are accepted by all produce vendors for fresh fruits and vegetables. And food stamp recipients just need to stop by the market manager’s tent to swipe their EBT card and use their benefits to purchase food stamp eligible items from any vendor.Come and see why the Seneca Falls Farmers Market keeps growing! Thank you to the Town of Seneca Falls and the Seneca Falls Recreation Department for their support of the market. We couldn’t do it without them!See you at the Park!Patti BattleyExtension EducatorSeneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension
