Port Byron sex offender arrested for sex abuse

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one person in connection with a 6 month long, ongoing child sexual abuse investigation.At 11:10 am on Monday Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Kevin R. Lasher, age 54, of 12 McClellan St. Port Byron, N.Y. on an arrest warrant issued out of the Village of Port Byron Court. Lasher was charged with one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (felony). Lasher was arraigned in the Town of Throop Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.Lasher is a Level 1 Registered Sex Offender stemming from a conviction for Rape 3rd in 2005.Today’s charge stems from an investigation into the sexual abuse of a female child less than 11 years of age. The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
