Hector man killed, 2 injured in Lodi crash

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Deputies are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on RT 414 in the Town of Lodi, in front of the Lodi firehouse. Sheriff’s Deputies report that Mark O’Conner age 45 of Stonehouse Rd. in Somers, NY was northbound on Rt 414 when a southbound vehicle, driven by Blaise M. Fallon age 67 of 5729 Rt 414 Hector, NY, crossed the center line and struck O’Conner’s vehicle head on.O’Conner was uninjured in the accident but his passengers: Robert F Colavita age 55 of 122 Ormsby Drive Syracuse NY (front seat) and Cynthia A Colavita age 51 of 122 Ormsby Drive Syracuse(rear seat) were treated at the scene and transported to Cayuga Medical center in Ithaca. Robert Colavita was transported by Hector Ambulance and is being treated for back pain and Cynthia Colavita was transported by South Seneca Ambulance and is being treated for neck pain.Fallon was transported by South Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital where he later died. Deputies state that Fallon suffered chest trauma, an autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death. Lodi fire assisted at the scene, both vehicles were extensively damaged and were towed from the scene.Deputies report that Fallon had just returned from a trip out of the country and was fatigued and may have fallen asleep. The investigation is continuing.
