Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a personal injury automobile accident on State Route 96 in the Town of Fayette. A tractor trailer being driven by Anthony S. Dagata age 49 of 179 Northwood Circle Rome, NY was north bound on State Route 96 when strong winds caused the trailer to swerve back and fourth. The tractor and trailer flipped over onto the driver side and slid into the ditch on the east side of the roadway before coming to rest. The Dagata suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Sheriff’s Deputies and Members of the Waterloo Fire Department until emergency medical staff could arrive on the scene. Due to the wide range of trees and power lines down emergency medical responders had a difficult time arriving at the scene. The driver was then transported to Auburn Memorial Hospital by South Seneca Ambulance. The road was closed for ab out 2 hours while Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the accident. The primary cause of the accident was determined to be weather related and no tickets were issued.
