Tarjac Achieves Cerakote Coating Tech Certification

Tarjac, Inc., a global leader in hard goods decoration technologies, including hydrographics coatings has added the Cerakote branded finishing technology to its portfolio of services. Tarjac selected the Cerakote technology because of its superior field performance characteristics. Tarjac completed the equipment installation and achieved factory certification in the first quarter of 2012.Cerakote’s finishing technology is revolutionary as it utilizes ceramic-based coatings, which demonstrate exceptional durability and temperature resistance characteristics in both the test lab and the field. In an extensive series of field tests, the Cerakote finishes outperform conventional wet coating technologies. This exponential increase in physical durability properties is accomplished with minimal dry film thickness (DFT) levels. The combination of exceptional performance and thin layer application has given Tarjac the confidence that this technology will be beneficial and field reliable for the outdoor marketplace.Larry Salerno, Tarjac CEO commented that “after an in-depth testing program, we felt that this technology would well serve our customers across multiple industries. Our customers are looking for higher margin offerings that provide exceptional value to their consumers. Whether for the firearms industry or automotive suppliers or premium consumer goods manufacturers, personalized premium protective coatings are greatly desired.”Cerakote can be applied in a wide range of colors to all metals, including titanium and aluminum, and all plastics. While the coatings technology is most commonly employed in the firearms and sporting goods industries, Tarjac intends to apply Cerakote to products ranging the full spectrum of its diverse customer base. As with all other Tarjac decorating capabilities, the new process will be offered to both large scale contract manufacturing firms and direct to consumers for aftermarket customization.Tarjac, Inc. is a market pioneer in the application of graphic finishing solutions to hard goods.
