24-year-old Genoa man killed in Route 90 crash

Sheriff David Gould reports that on Sunday April 22, 2012 at 01:09 AM the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on NY State Route 90 in the Town of Genoa that resulted in the death of a 24 year old Genoa man.The investigation has revealed that 24 year old Derek Kulis of NYS Route 90 in the Town of Genoa was operating a 2010 Dodge Pick-up in an easterly direction on NYS Route 90 in the area of Creek Road. That vehicle traveled off the North side of the roadway striking a tree. Kulis suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Investigation into this accident is ongoing.Assisting at the scene were the Genoa, Scipio and King Ferry Fire Departments as well as the Southern Cayuga Ambulance, Four Town Ambulance and the Cayuga County Office of Emergency Management.
