Abby L. Hand age 40 (51 N. Main St, Prattsburgh, NY) was riding a horse south on Saturday on Guyanoga Road (County Rd#29) and attempted to turn onto Friend Road. Abby was “running” the horse at the time and the speed of the horse in addition to having no shoes on the horse caused it to slip on the roadway pavement and Abby to be ejected striking the highway. Abby was not wearing a helmet and had a laceration to her forehead, bruises and pain in her neck and right leg. Penn Yan Ambulance Corps transported her to a landing zone in Benton Firehouse where she was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital trauma Center. Deputies assisted EMS at the scene. Yates County 911 call at 2:41PM Saturday April 14, 2012
