On 03/13/2012 at about 3:50 PM, Seneca Falls Police arrested Philip V. Hermida age 53, of 235 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, New Jersey. Hermida was arrested on a arrest warrant issued out of the Hawthorne New Jersey Police Department for attempted murder of two uniformed police officers. It is alleged that Herminda attempted to run down two uniformed Hawthorne Police Officers while they were standing outside their police cruiser in a parking lot. Herminda allegedly missed the Police Officers, however struck their police cruiser.Seneca Falls Police received information from the Hawthorne Police Department that Hermida was possibly staying at a local hotel in the Town of Seneca Falls. Police located Hermida’s vehicle that he used in the attempted murder in the parking lot at the hotel. Police then went to the hotel room Hermida was staying in and arrested him without further incident. Herminda was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court in front of the Honorable Judge Mahoney where he was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail waiting extradition back to New Jersey. Hermida is scheduled to appear in the Seneca County Court on a later date. The Seneca Falls Police Department was assisted on this arrest by an Investigator from the New York State Police and an Investigator from the Seneca County District Attorneys Office.
