Frank Knight Elementary School in Seneca Falls will be hauling out the heavy equipment to celebrate their 29th annual Reading Week March 9-16. The theme for this year is Build Your Foundation: Read! The week will kick off with an assembly on Friday March 9th to announce the Principals’ challenge which will motivate students to read at home each night. During the week the school will be decorated with a construction theme, and students will wear student designed t-shirts and badges. Community members will read in each classroom, students will exchange books at the book exchange, and collect pennies for Habitat for Humanity.The highlight of the week will be a presentation by author Karen Beil on Tuesday, March 13. Each student will receive an autographed copy of her book, Jack’s House, compliments of Frank Knight Parent’s Team.On Thursday, March 15 at 6:30, Tom Seiling will perform a concert for students and their families. Cookies and milk will complete the fun filled night.The week will conclude on Friday with a whole school assembly. The principal will complete her challenge if the students have met their read at home goal. You can bet it will involve a hard hat and tool belt!
