The Seneca County Sheriff’s office reports that on 2/12/2012 at 12:48pm, Deputies responded to State Route 96A in the Town of Varick for a three car personal injury motor vehicle accident. Involved in the crash were Joy Vanorden, age 66 of 2276 County RD. 139 in Ovid, Matthew Hayes, age 29 of 4 Phelps DR in Homer NY and 24 year old Timothy Ivory of 437 Anthwyn RD Narberth Pa. The crash resaulted from Vanorden, who was northbound on State Route 96A when she lost control of her vehicle, causing her to enter oncoming traffic where Hayes, who was southbound struck her vehicle in the left rear. After the initial impact, Hayes was rear ended by Ivory. Ivory was treated on scene by South Seneca Ambulance and released with no injuries. Hayes and Vanorden were transported to Cayuga Medical Center by South Seneca Ambulance in which Hayes was treated for Shoulder pain and Vanorden was treated for Head pain. Vanorden was issued a ticket f or speed not reasonable and prudent and is to appear in the Town of Varick court on the 14th of March to answer the charge.
