On 02/02/12 at approximately 11:44 p.m. the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Dakota M. Huffine, age 23, of 192 1/2 Fall Street, Seneca Falls, NY for Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd Degree. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on 01/29/12 at a local town business. Officers were dispatched to the business for a report of a possible larceny in progress in which a male was seen getting into a vehicle parked at the business and may be stealing items from the vehicle. Initial investigation showed no larceny had occurred at the business. The male told officers he was told to get into the vehicle by his friend and to wait in the vehicle for his friend to arrive. Further investigation revealed that Huffine was the friend the male was waiting for at the local business. When questioned, Huffine admitted to officers that she told the male to get into the vehicle as part of a prank. Huffine stated she then contacted the business reporting the male was getting into a stranger’s vehicle and was not sure what the male was doing. She was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and committed to SCCF on $2000 Cash/$4000 Bond. She is to re-appear in court on 02/08/12 at 9 a.m.
