The Waterloo Village Police Department conducted home visits to all 18 registered Sex Offenders living within the Village of Waterloo over the past week. Following the door to door verification by the police department one person was found to be violating his terms and conditions of the NYS Sex Offender Registration Act.Michael A. Brewer, age 35, formally of 96 Center Street, Waterloo NY, was arrested Wednesday, January 25, 2011 at 7:10 PM for failing to Register/Change of address as a sex offender a class E Felony. Mr. Brewer was found not to be living at his registered address between December 19, 2011 and January 24, 2012. It is alleged that Mr. Brewer had moved from his registered address to another location without reporting his address change to the NYS Division of Criminal Justice services. By NYS law any registered sex offender must change and notify the NYS Division of Criminal Justice services of any change of address. Mr. Brewer was arraigned in Waterloo Village Court and was released to pre-trial release. Mr. Brewer is scheduled to return to Waterloo Village Court on March 7, 2012.
