The Seneca County Sheriff’s office reports that Deputies responded to a large structure fire located at 4504 State Route 414 in Fayette at 12:10 AM. Deputies report the home, owned by Douglas Dickenson, age 41 of that address was fully engulfed when they arrived. Fire Companies from Fayette, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Romulus, Varick and Border City responded and fought the blaze for over two hours before calling it under control. Home at the time of the fire was Dickenson, his Wife Charlene Dickenson, a brother Christopher Dickenson and his father Harold Dickenson all made it out without injury.The home was a total loss and was insured. A vehicle parked near the structure was also a total loss. The Seneca County Fire investigation team returned to the scene this morning and located the origin of the fire, a small refrigerator located in a detached garage and that winds caused the fire to move to the house. The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental electrical. The NYSP, North and South Seneca Ambulance, Seneca Couth Highway and Codes, NYSE&G all assisted at the scene.
