Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Deputies arrested John F. DeRuyter age 41 of 1411 Prospect St. in Willard for Criminal Contempt 1st, a Class E Felony. Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor and Harassment 2nd ,a violation. The charges stem from a domestic incident where it is alleged that DeRuyter shoved a female victim to the ground during an argument. It is also alleged that DeRuyter was pulling on a one year old child while she was in the arms of the female victim. There was a class B order of protection in effect at the time of the arrest issued out of Seneca County Family Court. DeRuyter was arraigned in the town of Romulus Court and turned over to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $2,500.00 cash bail, $5,000.00 certified bond. A class A order of protection was issued to the victim. DeRuyter is to re-appear in the town of Romulus Court on the 20th of January to answer to the charges.
