The Seneca County Sheriffs Office reports, Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a one vehicle personal injury rollover accident on State Route 89 in the Town of Covert. Sheriff’s Deputies state Timothy J. Becony age 48 of 1264 Elmira Road Newfield, New York was traveling south on State Route 89 when the vehicle he was driving drifted off the west side of the road because of glare from the sun, according to Becony. The vehicle then traveled onto a guardrail and rolled over.Passengers in the vehicle, Kathleen Cipriano age 48, Edmund A. Volpe age 77 and Lorraine S. Volpe age 74 all of 1264 Elmira Road Newfield were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by South and North Seneca Ambulance in Rochester with cuts and bruises. Cipriano and Volpe had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Interlaken Fire Department. Becony was uninjured. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
