The new Town of Seneca Falls Police Department, which takes over when the village government dissolves at midnight on December 31st, 2011, will be lead by a 13 year veteran of the current Village police department. 39-year old Peenstra, who lives in the Cayuga County town of Sennett, has been a Sargent in the Seneca Falls Police Department for the past 6-years. Peenstra was the unanimous choice out of four candidates interviewed by the Seneca Falls Town Board for the Interim Police Chief position. Town board member Tim Snyder did not vote last night on the appointment as a member of the police department and was one of the four candidates up for the job.
