Genevan fall asleep at wheel, hits several vehicles

A Geneva man fell asleep at the wheel Sunday morning and crashed into several vehicles along State Route 14 in Geneva.Kevan Bynum, 47, fell asleep while driving south on Route 14 shortly after 9 a.m., drove off the east side of the highway just north of Gambee Road and struck a front-end loader, a boat and trailer that were parked there, Ontario County sheriff’s deputies said today. Bynum was taken to Geneva General Hospital to be evaluated and was released, deputies said. His car was heavily damaged, deputies said.Bynum was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to keep right and operating an uninspected vehicle. He is expected to answer the charges in Geneva Town Court at a later date.
