An amazing finish in local DIII basketball for the Hobart Statesmen earlier this week in the Wendy’s College Classic in Rochester. Hobart went the length of the floor in 3 seconds with a baseball pass from baseline to the opposite sideline, and a touch pass to senior Matt Pebole whose layup beat the buzzer to lift the Statesmen to a 71-70 victory over the College at Brockport in the semifinals of the Wendy’s College Classic at RIT. You can watch a video of the amazing play below. Then, in Saturday’s final, the Statesmen rallied from an eight-point deficit in the second half and defeated last year’s champion Nazareth 72-63, winning for the first time in the 46-year history of the Wendy’s College Classic.Hobart is now 6-0 to start their 2011-12 campaign.
