An update on an editorial we ran last week concerning two horses in trouble in the Southern Tier…Last week, two horses were seized from a home in Thurston after multiple reports of neglect. Tuesday, the Finger Lakes SPCA released a statement saying one of the horses was put down.Neighbors say that horse could have been saved if the SPCA acted when it was first reported. Danielle Hendrick owned Blaze the horse since he was 2 years old. She was forced to give him up last December because she couldn’t care for him anymore.Last Wednesday the SPCA seized Blaze and the second horse named Reddy. For Blaze it was too late, he had to be put down.
