Don Gentilcore to receive Forty Under 40 award

GentilcoreDon Gentilcore, Area Manager for the Seneca Meadows Landfill, has been selected for the Rochester Business Journal’s 2011 Forty Under 40 award. With nominations from the community and selections by a committee of business leaders, the Forty Under 40 awards recognize 40 men and women under the age of 40 who have achieved professional success and made significant civic contributions to our community. The award has become a prestigious honor. Hundreds of people are nominated, and only the best of the best are recognized. The award honors individuals under the age of forty who have attained notable professional and civic achievements.Gentilcore, age 39, has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Environmental Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He began his career with Seneca Meadows through a Cooperative Education Program in 1992, at the age of 19, and worked his way from engineer to district manager by 2003. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Gentilcore has volunteered his time for multiple community organizations, and currently serves on the following boards: Board Member and Past President, Seneca County Chamber of Commerce; Member of Board of Directors and Finance Committee Vice Chairman, Finger Lakes Health; Board member, Montezuma Audubon Center Advisory Board; Board member and President, Seneca Museum of Waterways and Industry.In response to receiving notification of his selection as a Forty Under 40 award recipient, Gentilcore writes, “This honor is really a reflection of our entire staff at Seneca Meadows.
