Shed fire in Ovid causes $10k in damage

The Seneca County Sheriffs Office reports, Sheriff Deputies responded to a structure fire at 7364 Route 96 in the Town of Ovid, NY. The structure was a shed that was not attached to the home was a total loss. The cause of the fire was burning leaves next to the shed that caught the shed on fire. The home owner is Elmer W. Martz age 72 of the same address was at home at the time of the fire. The estimated loss of the shed is $10,000.00 the shed is insured. Ovid Fire Dept. was in charge of the scene Lodi Fire Dept. and Interlaken Fire Dept. assisted at the scene.
