Ovid man charged with DWI after 10/8 crash

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on October 8th, 2011 at 3:33 AM, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jonathan C. Steger, age 26, of 2445 Co. Rd. 130 Ovid NY, on 6150 St Rt. 96 in the Town of Ovid. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Keep Right and is to appear before the Town of Ovid, Justice Ewing on December 12th, 2011 to answer the charges.Deputies state that the charges were the result of a personal injury motor vehicle accident investigated on Deelick Springs Rd. on 10-8/11 at 2:34 am. A 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Steger was westbound on Deerlick Springs Rd. when it failed to negotiate a curve. The Jeep entered the ditch on the south side of the road and rolled over. Steger was extricated from the vehicle by Interlaken VFD and treated by South Seneca Ambulance before being flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital. Steger was treated for a head injury and later released
