Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three persons in connection with a home invasion style burglary which occurred at approximately 2:00am on October 7th at 2342 Robinson Rd. in the Town of Ira. The following three defendants are being held at the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.Derrick J. Sedore age 25 of 240 Mill St. Hannibal, N.Y.Caleb A. Pilkenton age 20 of 4 Sheridan St. Auburn, N.Y.Myron “Jay” Sierson Jr. age 29 of 12342 Furnace St. Wolcott, N.Y.All three defendants have been charged with Burglary in the first degree and Burglary in the second degree (felonies) in connection with two entries made at the residence of Zachary Grant age 23, the second of which resulted in Grant, Sedore and Pilkenston all being stabbed during a scuffle inside the residence. The investigation reveals that the three defendants committed a burglary at the residence while it was unoccupied earlier the same morning at which time electronics, a shotgun and other items were stolen. The three later returned to the residence to retrieve physical evidence that they had left behind and this time encountered the resident, Zachary Grant, inside the residence. A fight ensued at which time Sedore, Pilkenton and Grant all ended up injured. Sedore and Pilkenton were driven to Oswego Hospital by Sierson. Grant was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. All were treated for stab wounds and all had been released from hospitals by Saturday the 8th. The investigation is continuing and any further charges will be handled through action by the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office. It should be noted that this residence was specifically targeted by these individuals and there is no need for public alarm.
