Movie in the park in Palmyra on Friday 9/30

At dusk, on Friday night September 30th, The Village of Palmyra Celebrations Committee is hosting its annual Fall Movie in the Park, “Despicable Me” (PG 2010). In this animated film a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.The movie is provided free of charge, courtesy of the Village of Palmyra. Some seating will be available, but moviegoers are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. It is suggested that children ages 13 and under be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments and popcorn will be available for purchase in the Park by the Pal-Mac Lions Club. In case of rain, the movie will move indoors to the Sexton Building (Park & Club Rooms), located next to the Village Park, and beginning at 7:30.
