Geneva Seneca Street brawl may leat to arrests

City police expect to make two arrests following a brawl early Sunday morning on Seneca Street.Police responded to a disturbance involving about 30 people in the area of Seneca and Exchange streets about 2 a.m. When they arrived, police saw a man yelling racial slurs chasing another man. Officers warned the man shouting the slurs to stop, but he refused to comply and was charged with disorderlyconduct.Police declined to release the man’s name since he was not charged with a misdemeanor or felony.At the same time, two other men began fighting in front of Studio Salon on Seneca Street, resulting indamage to the front window of the business.Geneva Police Department Lt. Eric Heieck said the men are expected to be charged — possibly today — with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor,for damaging the window. Heieck said one of themen suffered a cut from the glass but declined medicalattention at the scene. About the same time, Heieck said a group of roughly 10 people were fighting in the middle of Seneca Street. Police used pepper spray to break up the brawl.Heieck said members of the Ontario County Sheriff ’s Department helped disperse the crowd. No one involved in the brawl was charged, nor were any police officers injured, Heieck said.
