Two ejected from serious 1-car rollover in Niles

Sheriff David Gould reports that The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one car serious personal injury motor vehicle accident which occurred at 7:55 pm on Sunday, September 18th on Old Salt Road just south of the intersection of Burdock Road in the Town of Niles. John T Badman, age 20, of Moravia was operating a 1998 Geo Tracker north on Old Salt Road when he lost control of the vehicle which traveled off the roadway and rolled. The vehicle was also occupied by Brian A Badman, age 15, of Moravia and Ryan S Hargett, age 14, of Moravia. Both John T Badman and Brian A Badman were ejected from the vehicle and subsequently airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, their condition is considered critical; Ryan S Hargett was transported to Upstate University Hospital by ambulance, he was later released.The accident was witnessed by a third brother, James D Badman, age 22, of Moravia, who was following on a four-wheeler.The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have further information or was in the area near the time of the accident to contact Detective Sergeant Fred Cornelius at 253-6562.The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by New Hope Fire Department, Sempronius Fire Department, West Niles Fire Department, Owasco Fire Department, Moravia Fire Department, Rural Metro Ambulance, Four Town Ambulance Corp, Saves Ambulance Corp, Moravia Police Department, New York State Police Department and the Cayuga County Emergency Management Office. Transports provided by Onondaga County Air One and New York State Police Helicopter.
